Hand Washing Tips

Hand washing is like a “do-it-yourself” vaccine—it involves five simple and effective steps you can take to reduce the spread of diarrhea and respiratory illness so you can stay healthy:

  • Wet
  • Lather
  • Scrub
  • Rinse
  • Dry

A good rule of thumb is to sing “Happy Birthday” twice while washing your hands.  Regular hand washing, particularly before and after certain activities (before eating, after toileting, etc.) is one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick, and prevent the spread of germs to others. In light of all that is in the news currently regarding Ebola and Enterovirus, as well as remembering that flu season is upon us, we want to ensure you stay healthy.  As good practice, please regularly wash your hands because it is proven that it makes a difference in the well-being of our students and staff.
